Recap for AENY Meeting 6/28/07

Hi everyone-

This meeting was a 3-parter. Normally we have 2 presentations lasting 45 minutes each, but this time we packed it in with 3 separate presenters. If you missed it, you missed some great workflow information from GridIron and Automatic Duck, plus some cool tips on the new AE CS3 Puppet Tool.

Just to recap, we started the night off with some food and drinks (thanks Adobe!) where we had a chance to connect with others in our industry. As usual, we made our announcements, and then we got moving.

  
We kicked off the night with an informative and very funny presentation by Automatic Duck. We got to see from the Wes Plate (the Duck himself) how you can easily bring your editing timelines from Avid and Final Cut Pro directly into After Effects without rendering. We also got Wes to tell us the story of how the company got the name "Automatic Duck." mg
Next up, Ben Piercey from GridIron software showed us the power of NuCleo Pro 2 - all the kicks of Nucleo Pro, plus the ability to render your 3D projects (C4D, Maya, Max...etc.) In the Background - with no hit to AE. It uses the resources that AE doesn't use, so you can keep working without a slowdown.

After that, Aharon showed some cool stuff with the new AE CS3 Puppet tool, including how to use it with particles. The idea for that came from a conversation he had with the ToolFarm's Jim Geduldick - If you missed the meeting Aharon and Jim are working on a tutorial to explain it all.
